Yes, once again I’ve relaunched CoquetteNet, now as a blog about exploring vintage finds discovered mostly through thrifting or rummaging in estate and yard sales. Why? Well, thrifting captured my imagination recently – it’s a mash-up of treasure hunting, archeology, history and fashion. I enjoy uncovering a vintage dress, a handkerchief, a jacket, or a brooch, researching how old that particular object may be, then trying to work it into my wardrobe without looking like a re-enactor.

Of course, it’s not just clothing that I’m after, but vintage housewares as well. I’ve recently re-discovered Pyrex and have amassed a few kick ass pieces that I’m already using/displaying in my soon-to-be refurbished kitchen. The two dishes in the Butterprint pattern (pictured right) I picked up at Goodwill for $1.46 and $2.46 (lids included)! I love finding these old Pyrex pieces because they’re so kitschy yet still so usable. And it’s even better when you spot old Pyrex tucked into row after row of generic Crate and Barrel plates and mugs. I practically elbowed a woman in the throat to get to them.

So, we’ll see where this takes me…hopefully, I don’t end up a candidate for an episode of Hoarders.
